It's 6:30 am and you are on your way to Bali for a week long getaway trip with your colleagues. Komune Resort has been in daily conversation amongst everyone at work for months. When you finally arrive at the resort, your bags are whisked away to your room and you are ready to explore the extensive grounds and all it has to offer.
As you weave through the resorts jungle-like pathways and get to know the area, you realize that this particular resort defies all logic by providing world-class surfing, yoga, a skatepark, childcare, indoor fitness center, amazing restaurants, and even a version of California’s infamous Muscle Beach. Your team could spend a whole month here easily without ever leaving the resort.
That evening, your team meets up at the Beach Club restaurant for dinner and drinks. As the sun goes down, your eyes drift to the surfers that are gliding along the towering waves and the sun behind them as it dyes the sky pink and red. You spend the night laughing with your team and walking along the black sand beach, telling each other that you have to book this resort again for next year.
The next morning, the resort has organized daily group fitness sessions tailored to your team. You also learn that there are daily yoga sessions taught at one of the numerous yoga shala's. Before you leave your room, your personal floating breakfast arrives and is setup in the pool outside your room looking like it came straight out of a magazine. You gleefully hop into the pool and begin feasting. Your eyes roll into the back of your head as the taste of each little dish on the magnificent, floating platter melts in your mouth.
Once you've finished breakfast, you walk with your colleagues to the centre of the resort dubbed the 'Health Hub' and wander down a path that leads to 'Muscle Beach' - a beachy, outdoor fitness gym inspired by California's very own. After an invigorating workout, you shower off and sit down at the Health Hub's restaurant with your team for a delicious lunch served from their stand alone Health Hub menu chocked full with a variety of veggie, vegan and gluten free dishes.
Afterwards, you walk behind the Health Hub restaurant into the adjoining Yoga Shala and join the 11 am class. You breath in the tranquility and energy of the oceanside jungle, exhaling any stress or worry you have been holding onto.
That afternoon you find yourself lounging with a colourful cocktail in the large infinity pool overlooking the vast ocean and the many surfers speckling the waves and entertaining the onlookers. You find yourself daydreaming of what it would be like to live here all the time and decide you are definitely coming back to Komune as soon as humanly possible.
